7 Things You Need to Know For Your Whirlwind Wedding
April 25, 2018
Planning a whirlwind wedding in a matter of weeks or months can be stressful! That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the 7 things we think you need to know for your dream wedding.
Make a thorough check list!
Starting with the date and working your way from there, make a list of everything you need to organise for your big day to go ahead. Make sure you include tasks like drafting a guest list, seating arrangements and organising suppliers!
Set a realistic budget from the start
Your fairy-tale wedding doesn’t have to cost a fortune, so set a realistic budget and save yourself time and stress later down the line. Once your budget is set, the rest all follows naturally.
Make sure all the legal paperwork is in hand
In Scotland, you can get married by a civil ceremony or a religious ceremony but in both cases there are legal requirements that must be met. First, you and your partner will need to complete a marriage notice. Then your marriage will need to be conducted by either a registrar or an approved celebrant in the presence of two witnesses. After the ceremony, you and your partner, the two witnesses and the person who conducted the ceremony must all sign the Marriage Schedule.
Sorting this all out before the wedding means that you can jet off on your honeymoon with peace of mind! Find out more here.
Don’t bother with formal save the dates – an event on social media can be a time saver
Who said a social media Save the Date couldn’t be personal? We live in a digital age and websites like Canva are game changers! Design an extra personal save the date post by capturing one of your own couple moments, then attach it to an email, send it over Whatsapp or Messenger, or create a Facebook event – trust us, it’ll save you time and money.
Don’t sweat the small stuff!
We know it’s easy to get caught up in tiny details, but always try to keep the bigger picture in mind. It’s your special day and the most important thing is that you share it with your partner. The benefit of booking with a venue like ours is our expert team and your designated wedding coordinator, there to take the pain out of planning!
Once your date is set make sure you get your key suppliers booked asap
If you haven’t got a wedding planner, you’ll need to make sure you’ve got your food, photographer, florist, entertainment and party hire all booked in advance. When you book your wedding at The Hub, our little black book of suppliers is at your disposal and our team can book it all for you.
Delegate!
Try not to micro-manage everything. If your venue comes with a wedding coordinator – take advantage! Let them take care of the details. Then ask family, bridesmaids, groomsmen and friends to help out.
